GrapheneOS Confirms New OEM Partnership for Next-Gen Secure Devices

This partnership signals a major expansion of the secure-phone ecosystem!

GrapheneOS has officially confirmed a major new hardware partnership—one that marks the end of its long-standing Pixel exclusivity. According to the team, work with a major Android OEM began in June and is now moving toward the development of a next-generation smartphone built to meet GrapheneOS’ strict privacy and security standards.

This shift is significant. For years, GrapheneOS has relied on Google’s Pixel line because of its robust security architecture, reliable patch cadence, and the team’s access to essential low-level firmware components. Expanding to another manufacturer requires deep collaboration, particularly around firmware access, hardware security modules, and verifiable supply-chain integrity. This new partnership meets those conditions.

The upcoming devices are expected to feature flagship Snapdragon processors, providing faster performance than Google’s Tensor chips while still supporting modern features and long-term maintainability. GrapheneOS is working directly with the OEM to ensure the hardware supports their hardened memory protections, exploit mitigations, and secure update processes.

Importantly, these new phones are planned for global availability through the manufacturer’s standard product lineup. As always, users will be able to install GrapheneOS themselves.

For current Pixel users, there’s no need to worry. GrapheneOS has confirmed that all supported Pixels will continue receiving timely security updates until their official end-of-life dates, with the last one extending into October 2032.

This partnership signals a major expansion of the secure-phone ecosystem—one that could finally bring high-security, de-Googled mobile devices to mainstream hardware beyond Pixel.
