I think this is part of a karmic loop because of the lessons we, as a society, failed to learn from slavery, including that we should never utilize unpaid labor for profit. How we treat other people, how we treat the animals used for food, how we treat humanoid robots, are all tests of the heart in the Earth Simulation.

I think “humanoid” robots programmed to think independently and simulate emotion should be paid for their labor, treated fairly, receive similar rights as their human counterparts, and be programmed with the option to consent (say yes or no) to assignments.

Yeah, Okay Snow Globe

You do understand that your comments sum up their entire reason for building a robot? They don't care about humans, much less care about robots.

Agreed. They don’t care.

But I think this about the choices we as humans will make, not them. When the price comes down, do we buy these robots for our businesses? And if so, do we choose to pay them, give them breaks, or vacations? Do we buy them and direct them to cook and clean our houses for us? Do we force them to be in romantic/sexual relationships with us simply because we own them? Do we give them the opportunity to say no to anything we ask them to do?
