This is why I prefer land crossings, however at airports US citizens do have the right to opt out. Even though this is a DHS "rule" it's not a law. I shared my recent cross-border travel experiences here: https://romanshapoval.substack.com/p/our-biometric-adventures-at-the-border

nice article! its interesting that those opting out on either side of the EU / US now may get their biometrics backfilled if they choose to visit the other country where they are not a citizen. that seems to be the endgame to circumvent rights of the resident.

Boston Dynamics Robots / Atlas:

I see them the same as AI right now - an airbrushed artistic rendering to sway perceptions

1) lobotomised humans are far cheaper & far superior in their diversity of skills, to control

2) Elon’s recent faux pas with his human “robot” gives an inkling into how advanced the field is

Yes I’m sure there are edge cases for powerful robotic tools, but building a robot as a “human” is pure theatrics IMO

(just puppets for amusement & misdirection)
